Hanover Town Home
Hanover, New Hampshire

This brick home was designed by Dartmouth College architect, Jens Frederick Larson and constructed in 1926 as his personal residence, but fell into neglect in recent years. We transformed the site by introducing a granite plinth wall and stairs, formal bluestone and brick kitchen terraces, fountain, and perennial border at the immediate house. Overall property enhancement included the creation of a secret garden terrace and meandering grass path through rhododendrons, enkianthus, fringetree, summersweet, magnolia, vinca and lilacs, a ten foot high clipped dark green arborvitae hedge at sidewalk, an axial reflecting pool, numerous shrub and perennial gardens and the care and preservation of a 75' tall American elm.
